Kids, kids, kids. June 2, 2008

Maybe it’s a sign for me to have kids? Maybe not.  

This year has been an overflow of kiddie parties, new babies and baptisms. More than the usual number for me. Since my wedding until the end of May I’ve attended or been invited to at least 6 birthday parties. Varying themes and styles, all but a celebration of a child’s birthday or birth. It’s truly amazing how the moms prepared for each of these celebrations. The time, money and effort they invest to come up with just the perfect day for their children.

Anyway I love attending these parties because it provides me with a venue for my photography. Plus my husband and I enjoy feeling like a kid once more. Especially when you are provided with free access to bottomless ice cream, pop corn, hotdogs and cotton candy! Yummy!

I love dogs! April 16, 2008

April 1, 2008, we welcome 3 new puppies in our home. Our dogs, Brandy (girl) and Miki (boy) gave us 3 healthy and cute puppies.

I’m a dog lover and it’s amazing to see how cute they are and how fast they grow. Can’t wait to see them running around in our garden.

A little girls dream wedding April 8, 2008

Like most little girls I’ve dreamt about my wedding.  We all had our share of storybooks and movies of fairytales and happy endings. We move through life waiting (well actually searching) for that perfect partner. Most of the times we get hurt, we learn and then become unbelieving and jaded. We begin to move with more caution and more issues. We have more considerations and more rules, but sometimes some of us get lucky!  I did! Thank God, my God’s gift (now my hubby) found me.  I have learned and mastered the value of WAITING instead of SEARCHING.

Not all weddings are perfect, but every wedding is special.  I kept this wisdom in my head as I enjoyed every moment of our wedding. No matter how OC you are, we need to come to terms with the reality that something can and will go wrong. From minor things to major mishaps, the couple just needs to take it in as part of their moment and memory.       

Last February 17, 2008, we tied the knot and as I write this blog, we’re in the process of adjusting to our new life together. We’re very happy and blessed.

I know, I’m not a Hollywood star. But I want to acknowledge all my guests, suppliers, sponsors, family and friends for making our wedding a very special day! Here’s my thank you list “ala Oscars”

For my hair and make up: Angie and Ogie (YOU GUYS ROCK!)  

For the cake: Yumi Castillo of Yummy Piece of Cakes (It’s just perfect! I highly recommend her for weddings and all events. Her cakes are not just gorgeous, it’s really good food, not just sugar and coloring!)

Coordinating my first wedding March 1, 2008

Last December 29, 2007, I had my first shot as a wedding coordinator!   I’d like to thank my college barkada for inviting me to join their events group, Dreamworkers. Perfect timing to prepare me for my wedding.     

The work of a coordinator is laborious and yet very fulfilling! It rained that day and I got drenched looking like a wet chicken wearing heels and make-up. I drove like a madman that day. As an usherette I had to make sure that the reception is perfect before guests arrive.  With a smile I greeted each guest, and with a smile we ended the day.  

I left the event knowing that we made our friend, Kytes Navarro (now Mrs. Kytes De Laza) a happily married woman. It also helps to hear the great feedback we’ve had from the guests. (Do I see more business coming? Wahoo!)
