I know that I’ve committed to blog about the positive things in life but this topic is much too important to ignore. I’d like to stay positive and see beautiful things but I also would like to remain genuine and truthful, facing the realities that face us today.

It’s time for us to wake up! I just watched a documentary in HBO that features Al Gore discussing “The Inconvenient Truth” about our climate and global warming.

This confirms the changes that most of us have observed in the last years and months.  Our weather has been so unpredictable and the heat is growing more intense year after year. Summer in the Philippines is now extremely hot and rain is now almost year round. Growing up, I remember rainy season start June to at least October. Now it rains even on summer and December.  Planning an event or wedding is even tougher. Garden set-ups are no longer advisable because you’ll never know if you’ll get a shower on your wedding day.
Times have truly changed and our way of life is being threatened, our ability to even survive is being endangered.

Let’s act now and arm ourselves with the information that will help us save our planet and our way of living.

For Filipinos, please watch the movie/documentary in HBO. It contains a lot of scientific data and compelling images that will show you what is happening to our planet. It’s available for viewing from April 22-April 27, 2008. It also advises us to visit the website for more information.

Girls Day Out
It gets harder to meet when one matures (i dare not say grow old hahaha).  Work and responsibilities take more of our time. We grow families, have children and work at least 8-10 hours a day.

I also notice that conversations change yearly. Like software upgrades, there are added features and more complex functionalities.

  • In grade school, toys and games filled our days.
  • In highschool, we talk mostly about boys and fashion.
  • In college, we still talk about boys but we also talk about careers and dreams.
  • As working girls, we still talk about boys, careers and dreams. But we have deeper sense of relationships and priorities. By this time some of us begin getting married.
  • Recently our conversations are more about our relationships, kids and family. We also talk about our entrepreneurial dreams.

It’s harder to meet now but when we do, it’s priceless. We talk about memories and we inspire each other. Life is meant to be shared because when we do, we get a richer and fuller life. We find strength in each other.

A closed door

Nothing is permanent and goodbyes are necessary to grow. There are times when we have to accept the reality that it’s time to give up and let go!

Sometimes giving up is not necessary failure but a sign of maturity. Why push it when there might be something else in stored for you?

As long as we played fair and we gave it our all, we can face life without any regret. No one said that life is fair and that sometimes there will be choices that we hope we did not make but we should not fret because there is always something better waiting for us.

This I have proven so many times, no matter how cliché it sounds its carries a heavy truth.

  • Learn to let go and let God.
  • Sometimes we have to empty our hands to keep it open.
  • We have to let go of what we  have because God has a better gift to give us.
